Michelle serves as a Clinical Liaison with the Transitions of Care team within Population Health at UVA Health. Since beginning her career in 2010, she has brought her passion for healthcare and patient advocacy to various roles within the organization.

Michelle's journey at UVA began with the construction of the Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), where she was hired before the building was completed. Collaborating with the initial team, she helped establish essential processes for the facility, driven by her enthusiasm for healthcare and commitment to patient care.

Before joining UVA, Michelle worked as a Paramedic in Detroit, Michigan. Her thirst for adrenaline and the unexpected led her to pursue a career in Respiratory Therapy, where she focused primarily on trauma patients. Throughout her career, she has worked in high-pressure environments, including Adult and Pediatric ERs and Intensive Care Units, which have shaped her quick pace and direct approach—something her trainees often notice!

Having grown up as a military brat, Michelle has called Virginia home since 2006. She is deeply proud of her four grandchildren and her adult children, cherishing every moment spent with them. An avid dog lover and outdoor enthusiast, she thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys starting her day with a workout. Her personality is characterized by humor and a straightforward approach, making her a beloved team member at UVA Health.
