Erica Hayes joined UVA Health in 2024, bringing 15 years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as a Clinical Liaison with the Transitions of Care Program, where she enjoys collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes following their acute stay. Erica will begin pursuing a degree in Health Sciences Management at the University of Virginia in 2025, reflecting her dedication to advancing her leadership skills.
Before relocating to Virginia, Erica worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for nearly a decade in a skilled nursing facility, where she also mentored and guided incoming OTA students as a clinical instructor. Upon moving to Charlottesville, she discovered a passion for supporting trauma patients as a clinical liaison in inpatient rehabilitation, specializing in evaluating their suitability for acute rehabilitation.
Erica holds multiple professional certifications, including the Dementia Care Specialist Certification from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, ALZ Certification from the Alzheimer’s Association, and LSVT BIG Certification for Parkinson’s Disease from LSVT Global. Originally from Rhode Island and later Florida, Erica is proud to call Virginia home. She is dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery and creating positive patient experiences at UVA Health.
