Sara joined the Population Health Case Management team in 2024. She graduated from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce in 2023. Fluent in both Dari and English, Sara is a certified interpreter, enabling her to effectively communicate with Afghan patients and ensure their needs are met within the healthcare system.
In her role as Case Manager, Sara is committed to fostering positive health outcomes for all individuals, with a particular focus on underserved populations. She is deeply invested in leveraging her background experience of working with patients to advocate for culturally competent care and facilitate access to resources. She looks forward to continuing her journey at UVA Health, where she can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. In her free time, Sara enjoys volunteering with refugee support organizations and exploring new hiking trails in the Shenandoah Valley.
