Pharmacy Informatics Manager
Program Director, PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency
Dr. Fiebert is the Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Informatics and Clinical Decision Support. In this role, he has oversight of the pharmacy informatics team who are responsible for the maintenance of pharmacy systems, integration of new technology, and the retrieval and analysis of pharmacy data. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John’s University. After graduating, he completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, followed by a PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency at the University of Virginia Health System. Prior to his current position, Dr. Fiebert was a Senior Pharmacy Applications Analyst at UVA Health.
Sang Lee, PharmD, CPHIMS
Preceptor for Pharmacy Informatics
Dr. Lee is a Senior Pharmacy Application Analyst with the Pharmacy Informatics and Clinical Decision Support team. His main responsibilities include pharmacy automation maintenance, interoperability optimization, and data analysis. Dr. Lee earned his BS in Biology at the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy residency at Hahnemann University Hospital and a PGY-2 Pharmacy Informatics residency at the University of Virginia Health System.
Matthew Jenkins, PharmD, MS
Director of Pharmacy Services
Preceptor for Pharmacy Operations, Clinical Services Management, Pharmacy Practice Management
Dr. Jenkins is Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Services at UVA, responsible for clinical services, operations, and informatics/clinical decision support. Dr. Jenkins earned is PharmD from Auburn University. He completed an ASHP-accredited combined Residency/Master’s Degree Program in Health System Pharmacy Administration at the UPMC Health-System where he also received his Masters of Sciences in Health System Pharmacy Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining UVA, Dr. Jenkins was responsible for Clinical Operations at UF Health: Shands in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Jenkins has served as Operations Manager and Assistant Director of Clinical Operations for UF Health and as Operations Manager for the UVA Health System prior to his current role.
Brian Spoelhof, PharmD, BCPS
Assistant Manager of Pharmacy - Medication Utilization Strategy
Dr. Spoelhof is the Assistant Manager of Medication Utilization Strategy. His team is responsible for overseeing the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, drug shortages, and medication use at UVA. He earned his PharmD at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He then completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis and a PGY-2 in Critical Care at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center in Houston. He has practiced as a clinical pharmacist in neurocritical care, neurology and stroke, antimicrobial stewardship, and internal medicine as well as holding leadership positions in clinical management.
Ron Otten, RPh
Preceptor for Epic Willow
Ron Otten received his BS in Pharmacy from St. John’s University. After working retail for 5 years, Ron began working at UVA in 1989. Ron has been working in Pharmacy Informatics for the past 12 years, [1 year pharmacy IT/legacy system and 11 years on the Epic Willow Build team] and is currently Senior Pharmacy Applications Analyst and team lead for the Willow application. Prior to his current position, Ron worked on the Medicine, Surgery and Transplant pharmacy teams as well as staffing inpatient and outpatient operations. Ron served as team lead pharmacist on the night shift for 16 years. Ron is a member of VSHP and a past regional President.
Justin Vesser, PharmD, MS
Director, PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Program
Preceptor for Operations and Admin
Dr. Vesser is the manager of ambulatory pharmacy services and residency program director for the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program. He earned his PharmD at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and Masters of Pharmaceutical Science with a focus on Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics at Virginia Commonwealth University. He oversees operations for UVA outpatient pharmacies and clinical ambulatory pharmacy services. During his time with UVA, he has led implementation of a novel unit-based meds to beds program. He also oversaw moving a primary outpatient pharmacy to a new location and conversion to a 24/7 operation to better meet patient needs. His interests include team-building, developing the role of pharmacy technicians and designing new pharmacies.
