Amy Adams, PharmD, CCRP

Dr. Adams is Coordinator for Investigational Drug Services (Main Hospital) at UVA. Her practice sites include many different areas in research including pediatrics, neurology, pediatric oncology, infectious disease, trauma, addiction, cardiology, endocrinology, transplant trials, anesthesiology, among others. Dr. Adams has served on the IRB at UVA for 10 years and, over the years, has worked on trials managing procedure for proper execution of the trials, randomization, inventory control and documentation, as well as numerous monitor visits and audits of many kinds for both inpatients and outpatients. She is involved in a variety of types of trials including sponsored trials, cooperative group trials, and investigator-initiated trials. Dr. Adams earned her PharmD from Campbell University in North Carolina. She is a certified clinical research professional and has worked with clinical trials for over 15 years.

Lauren Benusa, PharmD, CCRP

Dr. Benusa is Coordinator for Investigational Drug Services (Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center) at UVA. Her practice is focused on adult oncology clinical trials. Dr. Benusa received her PharmD from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy in Richmond, Virginia.

Kyle Luedtke, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Luedtke is a pharmacist with Investigational Drug Services at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center. She received her PharmD from the Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Luedtke completed a PGY1 and PGY2 Critical Care residency at UVAHS, and practiced as a critical care clinical pharmacist.

Kara Thornton, PharmD, MEd

Dr.Thornton is a pharmacist with Investigational Drug Services in the Main Hospital. She received her PharmD from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Thornton completed a PGY1 residency at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, and a PGY2 Drug Information residency at UVAHS
