The Pegasus Air & Ground team can transport patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) by ground ambulance, helicopter, or fixed-wing aircraft. A surgeon and an ECMO specialist join our core team to care for these critically ill patients. Together we can continue ECMO support started prior to our arrival or initiate support once we arrive at the referring facility.

The University of Virginia Medical Center is an Extracorporeal Life Support Organization's Platinum Level Center of Excellence award winner, the international group's highest honor. Fewer than 30 hospitals worldwide have earned this award. As such, our team can quickly and safely transport these patients to UVA Health with an average scene time of 1.5 hours.
