SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS:
Fresh tissue core, at least 2 pieces 1 mm x 2 mm of kidney. Formalin fixed tissue is not acceptable. All specimens must have a label affixed with the patient name, medical record number and/or date of birth. All specimens must be accompanied by a completed Surgical Pathology Requisition.
TESTING SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, 7am-5pm, All other times available by Pathologists/Pathology Resident on call.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Submit core biopsy fresh, covered by moist cloth and a plastic bag. All specimens must have a label affixed with the patient name, medical record number and/or date of birth. All specimens must be accompanied by a completed Surgical Pathology Requisition.
Send all specimens directly to the lab via the pneumatic tube system 323 or hand deliver directly to the lab, UH 2981
