The Referral Laboratory department handles all specimens that must be sent to another institution for testing. This includes completing any referral laboratory-specific test request forms, processing of the sample according to the instructions of the testing facility, packaging for transport, and uploading of results to the patient lab results. Additionally, this area insures that the referral laboratory being used is credentialed by CLIA, CMS, and/or CAP as a measure of the quality of testing performed. The department is open from 8 AM- 5 PM, Monday – Friday.
