Ms. Nichols joined the Medicine Home program in 2023. She earned her first Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and worked in television production before changing careers. She went on to earn her second Bachelor’s and her Master’s degree from Pace University. She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years working in a variety of roles from urgent care to hospice to corporate health to corrections medicine.

She is trained in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention and is passionate about providing inclusive healthcare for all. Ms. Nichols is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ population and believes all persons deserve respectful healthcare. She also believes that education and empowerment is essential in working with any patient population. In addition, Ms. Nichols enjoys precepting and mentoring nursing and NP students.

Ms. Nichols was born and raised in a rural town in northern NY and has lived in the Charlottesville area for over 15 years. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, John, for over 35 years and has 2 grown daughters, Olivia and Amelia. She enjoys traveling, snorkeling, photography, and skiing.
