Kelly began her career in health care in 2003, became a registered nurse in 2006, and joined the Population Health Department in 2016. Her background includes eight years in the Neuro intensive care unit, and working at UVA in the Neuro ICU and step-down unit.

Since 2017, she has coordinated and facilitated the PT2 program for effective management strategies for prediabetes. Due to the program’s success, it has been continuously recognized by the CDC. Kelly also became qualified and certified in Care Coordination and Transition Management in 2020.

Kelly monitors the vital signs monitoring board for all Population Health programs, and she contacts patients or their caregivers when appropriate. She also coordinates communication between patients and their providers as a means to ensure long-term success with patients after program completion.

Kelly and her family enjoy flowers, growing vegetables, and the care of their animals on a small farm.
