Maria was born in Mexico City and moved to Charlottesville, VA in 2000. She speaks Spanish fluently. Maria has worked at UVA Health since 2014. During her first two years, she served as a scheduler at UVA Imaging. She then transferred to UVA's Cancer Center, where she was a referral specialist. Maria joined the Population Health Department in 2023. She is thrilled to work with patients and guide them to improve their understanding of their health. She is also passionate about bridging the gap in the Latino Community. Maria has an Associate of Science Degree and certificates in Nursing Aide and General Education. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2023 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies: concentration in Psychology.
Maria loves nature, and during her free time, she likes to go hiking with her daughter and dogs. She also enjoys playing the violin and flute. Maria loves to travel to meet new people and learn about different cultures.
