Cody was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to the Charlottesville area in 2016 with his family. Cody started his medical career in 2009 as an EMT in a rural county in West Virginia and continued his education and obtained his paramedic certification. He joined UVA Health with the Medical Transport Network in 2016 and joined the Population Health Department in 2022. He also currently works with UVA Special Event Medical Management and volunteers with West Albemarle Rescue Squad.
Cody has certifications in Emergency Vehicle Operator Class III, Vehicle Extractor, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He is passionate about working with underserved populations to provide complete and comprehensive healthcare. Cody enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, camping, and traveling.
