Funding Awards for Studies

There are two funding opportunities to support nursing research by UVAHS nurses! Applications are accepted during a specified period each year and recipients are announced at the Evidence-based Practice Symposium. For either award, applications may be made for an individual- or team-based project at any stage of completion, from initial proposal through publication of findings. If awarded, funds may be used either to conduct the nursing research project itself, or help disseminate research findings.

 

Pamela F. Cipriano Research Fund - Recipients are eligible for up to $500 in funding. Open to RNs in any UVAHS practice area.

    • Clara Winfield, BSN, RN, CAPA - 2015 Recipient
    • Rebecca Gilbert, DNP, RN, CCRN - 2014 Recipient

Suzi Burns Research Fund - Recipients are eligible for up to $2,500 in funding. Open to UVAHS RNs whose projects target Critical/Progressive care areas, emphasizing improvement in clinical outcomes, and demonstrating potential for high impact or broad scope of application.

Making Data Work for Nursing

We are delighted to offer a complimentary online course for continuing education credit titled, "Making Data Work for Nursing: Using Nursing Research and Evidence-based Practice to Affect Nursing Outcomes".

This course brings you research and best practices about recovering medication errors thereby enhancing patient safety, a research mentorship program, and fiscal stewardship to improve nurse staffing.
