Annual Nursing Excellence Awards
The PNSO presents awards annually honoring different aspects of excellence in the nursing role. Award recipients are selected on the basis of peer reviewed nominations received by the PNSO Awards Committee. Any Medical Center employee, PNSO Member, or UVA School of Nursing student may be the primary nominator for each of these awards.
PROCESS:
Nominations are accepted during a 6 week period beginning mid-January each year. Nominations are blinded and assigned by category to committee members for review. Members may not participate in the review and selection of a category that includes a nominee that is a co-worker or other relation that poses a conflict of interest. Award recipients are announced at a presentation event during Week of the Nurse each year in May.
For 2019, the PNSO Awards nominations are accepted January 24-March 7.
