Patient Liaison

Patients scheduled for the following exams will receive a confirmation call by a Patient Liaison.

  •  Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Computer Tomography (CT)
  • Arthrogram: A series of images of a joint after a contrast material (such as a dye) has been injected into the joint.
  • Fluoroscopy: Images of moving body structures which may be used to guide injections.
  • Ultrasound

A Liaison will call you 2-4 days before your scheduled appointment.

The Liaison conduct a will ask you screening questions and will provide personalized instructions based on your exam and your history.

Please notify the Liaison if you have a known allergy to contrast dye.

Contrast or Dye Allergy

If you have a known allergy to a contrast dye, please contact us right away.  Patients with a known contrast allergy can have their exams performed at the UVA Medical Center.

Anxiety & Claustrophobia

Please let us know if you have anxiety or claustrophobia so that we can assist you to have a successful MRI.
