The Uteam Learning page provides information about instructor-led educational sessions facilitated by Medical Center Learning & Organizational Development, School of Medicine-Diversity Program, School of Medicine Organizational Learning & Development, and Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) team members .  All of these sessions, unless otherwise denoted, are open to any team member at any level and are available for self-enrollment in NetLearning (Learning Management System - LMS).

In addition, we offer hundreds of online professional and technical development courses (via the LMS)  for Medical Center team members.

Communicating with Style - DiSC (2 hrs)

How we communicate with each other is impacted by our experiences, perspective, current state of mind, and those with whom we interact.  In this two-hour session, you will identify and understand your preferred communication style and explore the attributes and behaviors associated with each of the four DiSC styles.  You will learn to respond to other's communication styles while appreciating the values and contributions inherent in each.  Additionally, you will have a chance to practice techniques to improve communication with your most challenging team members.  NOTE: This education awards 2.0 CME Credits.

Who Should Attend:  Any team member at any level.

This four-hour version of the Crucial Conversations course will touch on the skills you can use to improve your communication in challenging situations.  This class serves as an introduction to Crucial Conversations or as a review for those who have attended the full course.  Throughout the training, you will have the opportunity to apply crucial conversations principles to real life challenges you may be facing.  NOTE:  4.0 CME Credits Awarded; 3.75 VNA Contact Hours Awarded.

Feedback is key to driving individual and team performance and is a great tool for recognition and development.  This two and a half hour class will cover how to deliver effective positive and constructive feedback and how to professionally receive feedback from others.  A feedback framework will be covered that can be applied to day-to-day feedback, as well as colleague input on performance reviews.  Common feedback challenges and solutions will also be discussed during this session.  NOTE:  2.5 CME Credits Awarded; 2.25 VNA Contact Hours Awarded.

This session shares exciting discoveries happening in the fields of positive psychology and neurosciences.  Learn about innovative strategies researchers are uncovering that can allow us to increase our level of happiness in under one minute a day.  If that were not enough of a benefit, the strategies also increase productivity.  NOTE:  2.0 CME Credits Awarded.
