Clinician Wellness Subcommittee

The goal of the Clinician Wellness Subcommittee, as outlined in Medical Center policy 0242, is to create a process for its Clinical Staff to identify and manage matters of individual clinician physical and mental health that is part of the peer review process but separate from clinical staff disciplinary functions. The purpose of the process is assistance and rehabilitation, rather than discipline, and is intended to aid clinicians in retaining or regaining optimal professional functioning, consistent with protection of patients and standards of appropriate and professional clinical behavior. There are three principal activities undertaken by the program: individual consultations, intensive small group activities and larger group educational programs.  Many of these activities are undertaken in conjunction with the School of Medicine’s Faculty Development Program.
