Parent Group

The Parent Group was created for parents of children at the UVA Malcolm W. Cole Child Care Center (MCCCC).  The purposes of the group are: 


·         To provide a forum for parents to raise questions, give kudos, and share concerns;

·         To be a liaison to UVA and Bright Horizons management;

·         To show appreciation and support of our teachers and staff through fundraising efforts; and

·         To foster the bonds between MCCCC parents, children, and staff.


Officers are elected annually.  Parent group meetings are held on a quarterly basis in the afternoon at the center in the Multipurpose Room.  Each meeting is led by the President with an agenda circulated at the meeting.  Meeting minutes will be posted on the Parent Group bulletin board and are available upon request.


The 2017-18 Parent Group meetings are scheduled as follows:




The Parent Group is responsible for assisting with the Week of the Young Child and planning and executing the yearly fundraisers such as Fall and Spring pictures, Square 1 Art, Fall and/or Spring Bulbs, Graduation Art Auction and more.  All proceeds from Parent Group fundraisers directly support the MCCCC Staff.
