Updating VA-4 Form Online
You Can Now Update Your Virginia Tax Withholding Online
As part of our continued effort to provide employees with more options, we have added a feature to the employee self serve program, the program that employees use to access their time and attendance, pay stubs and benefits. You may now update and make changes to your State VA-4 withholding status online. This will not only allow you to make immediate changes to your withholding status, but continues our “green” initiative by saving paper and other costs.
Please note: Changes made prior to the Saturday pay period end will be reflected on the next Friday paycheck.
To access and/or change your State VA-4 tax information follow these simple steps:
Click on the "Payroll Employee Self Serve" icon on the KnowledgeLink home page, or go to https://uvhrwb.hscs.virginia.edu:7006/PRD/signon.html. Please use lower case letters when signing in.
On the left-hand menu: Click "Self Service,” "Payroll and Compensation," and “VA-4 Tax Information.”
As with the paper VA-4 form, you may change the total number of allowances you claim and request additional dollars to be withheld.
If you are eligible, you may request exemption from STATE tax withholding. If you check “Exempt,” please be aware that no taxes will be withheld from your payroll checks.
NOTE: If you check “Exempt” you can not have any allowances. If you select exempt and individual allowances, you will receive an error message. Just click “OK” to return to the W-4 update screen and make the necessary corrections.
When you complete your changes, you must click “SUBMIT” at the bottom of the page to save your changes. You will be prompted to verify your identity by entering the same password that you used to sign into Employee Self Serve. Then click “Continue”. Your changes are now saved.
Be sure to log off after you have completed your changes.
After submitting your changes, you will receive an email confirmation of your new State VA-4 status at your Medical Center email address. Please save this email for your records. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your changes have not been recorded.
